In order to implement the deployment of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, and to thoroughly implement the requirements of the "Work Plan for Accelerating the Construction of a Dual Control System for Carbon Emissions" and the "Opinions on Accelerating the Establishment of a Product Carbon Footprint Management System", the Electronic Information Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has actively promoted the deepening of the supply side structural reform of the photovoltaic industry in recent years, accelerated the establishment of a product carbon footprint management system for the photovoltaic industry, and promoted the transformation and upgrading of the industry towards intelligence and green development.
On August 23, 2024, the Electronic Information Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology guided the China Electronics Standardization Research Institute to officially release the "Photovoltaic Industry Product Carbon Footprint Basic Database and Accounting Platform" in Beijing, marking the preliminary establishment of China's photovoltaic industry carbon footprint accounting system. It provides full chain technical support for the photovoltaic industry carbon footprint accounting work from standard basis, factor data acquisition to accounting software application, which is of great significance for photovoltaic industry enterprises to accurately and efficiently carry out photovoltaic product carbon footprint accounting, promote enterprise energy conservation and carbon reduction, and promote the overall green and low-carbon development of the industry.
Next, the Electronic Information Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will thoroughly implement the requirements of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee to "promote carbon reduction, pollution reduction, green expansion, growth, and actively respond to climate change", strengthen the standardized management of the photovoltaic industry, enhance and improve the carbon footprint management system of photovoltaic industry products, plant a green and low-carbon ecological background for the high-quality development of the photovoltaic industry, and continuously enhance the green competitiveness of China's photovoltaic products.
