As the shining star of the next generation of ultra efficient solar cell technology,silicon/perovskite tandem solar cells can break through the Shockley-Queisser limit in theoretical efficiency, reaching over 43%. Tandem solar cells increase the spectral absorption range and break through the efficiency limit of single junction cells by combining sub cells with different bandgaps. In a Tandem solar cell, the top wide bandgap cell absorbs photons, generates a higher voltage, and reduces the heat loss caused by high-energy electron relaxation. Its efficiency contribution accounts for more than 60% of the efficiency of the tandem solar cell.
